Evaluation of the Combustion Characteristics of Rice Husk and Coconut Shell Briquettes

Combustion characteristics of rice husk and coconut shell briquettes have been investigated with a view establishing its suitability as an energy source. The were collected carbonized in furnace charcoal (RHC) (CSC). These further down sized sieved to 2.5 mm particle size. RHC CSC mixed proportions 50:45, 60:35, 70:25, 80:15, 90:5% by weight respectively, 5% cassava starch used binder for all the compositions. briquette samples formed thorough mixing compaction metallic mold extruded drying labelled 1 A, 2 3 4 A 5 respectively. Physical mechanical well combustion tests performed confirmed viability briquettes. results indicate that sample 1A had highest calorific value (4886 cal/g). other properties such water content, ash density also their
